In September, the Experientia Foundation is launching a new program entitled Bezva chemie (Cool Chemistry) with a view to making primary and secondary school chemistry teaching more attractive. The Foundation will dedicate a sum of CZK 200,000 a year to the program, which will be divided between the most promising 20 projects in two categories – primary and secondary schools. “Whether a young, talented student will go on to become a scientist in the future is often already determined by their primary or secondary school teachers,” is the way Hana and Dalimil Dvořák explain the motivation behind the new Cool Chemistry program. Chemistry teachers will be able to apply for the Bezva chemie grant for the first time between 15 September and 15 October 2021 on the Foundation’s website https://www.experientia.cz/bezva-chemie/. “We expect that teachers will use the grants for their students’ projects or for the purchase of small items of equipment, laboratory glassware, chemistry software, teaching aids, or professional literature,” the Dvořáks explain.
